Joe Barron has over 30 years of experience growing and managing technology businesses from start-ups to multinational corporations and advising early stage technology companies at the executive level in the areas of funding strategy, business plan development and strategic alliances.
Member of Blue Tree Capital serving on the Screening and Deal Flow committee and represents them as a Board of Director member at their portfolio companies. Has served as Senior VP of Corporate Development at several early stage technology companies in the areas of data/network security, wireless power and global communication provisioning. Formerly Vice President of Corporate Development for Marconi plc, a multinational technology company, where he led an international team responsible for recommending, evaluating and negotiating equity investments, strategic alliances, investments and acquisitions worldwide, including leading due diligence and integration activities. Previously was a co-founder of Teleprobe Systems, which developed test and monitoring systems for the communications industry which was acquired by Harris Corp. While at Harris served as a Product Line Manager with P&L responsibility for the Test Systems product line. Holds an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Pittsburgh and is a graduate of the Harris Corporation's Executive Management program with follow up course work at the Wharton School of Business.Awarded several patents relating to telecommunication and datacom testing and circuit design.
